On Saturday August 16th, the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness and the Washington Nationals hosted Celiac Awareness night at the new stadium. Hundreds of people with celiac in the Washington, DC area enjoyed a variety of gluten-free goodies including soft pretzels, ice cream cones, four types of chili, fish tacos, loaded nachos, margaritas and Redbridge beer.
The Washington Nationals played the NFCA's public service announcement featuring CNN Newsroom Anchor Heidi Collins. For 30 seconds the whole ball park learned about celiac disease, symptoms and how they can get tested. It was a great night for celiacs!
